Born, May 22nd 1981, Joshua Charles Dawe began his career in Photography at Seventeen. Studying Art and Design at Tafe College, Perth, Joshua initially hoped to work as a comic book artist. During this formative period Joshua’s Father gave him his first camera. This would prove to be the catalyst for a continuing passion and vocation.
For the next decade Joshua worked in a multitude of different rolls ranging from Sales and Marketing to the Off-shore industry. Whenever he had the chance he travelled alone throughout the United States of America, Canada, Europe, and East Timor. His camera remaining a constant companion throughout this period, documenting and developing a talent behind the lens.
Now working out of his studio in Perth, Australia as a Full-Time Freelance Photographer, Joshua specialises in a vast range of photographic genre’s, including Fashion, Portraiture, Fine art, Scenery and Architectural Photography.
Counting Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts and Russel James as major influences Joshua’s aspirations point toward High–End Fashion and Celebrity Portraiture. “Every photo should tell a story, raw, natural, honest and gritty.”
Joshua has worked in conjunction with Factorie clothing and Australia’s Next Top Model and numerous upcoming Models and Musicians.
